In the Tinker are the mighty Shire horse, the powerful Clydesdale, the majestic Friesian, and the sure-footed Dales Pony. These were bred by travelers to the UK and Ireland to make for a strong and sturdy pull- and workhorse. At the same time, they stayed very much on top of the horse’s characters. They should be absolutely gentle and reliable. To date, the Tinker is known and loved for these characteristics. It is therefore often used as a therapy horse.

In winter, some Tinker horses grow a funny-looking moustache.
